Senior Graduation Party Ideas
High School Graduation Invitations
First things first, you must have invitations! The last few years, I’ve created alll my invitations on Canva! They have some really cool templates. If you search for “senior graduation party” or “high school graduation party”, you’ll get a ton of great options! And the best part, it’s FREE!!
If you’re looking to spend some money on your graduation invitations, I highly recommend Etsy. Similar to Canva, you can search for a variety of templates, select the one that fits your graduation party theme, and you’re all set!
High School Graduation Party Decorations
My favorite part of planning any party…. decorations 😉
Graduation Welcome Sign
Welcome signs are a game-changer. Trust me, there’s going to be so many people calling asking “where is the party”. It’s a cute and easy way to avoid everyone blowing up your phone, ahaha ;).
The ideas are endless, so these are my top two if I had to plan my grad party all over again.
Mirror Welcome Sign
If you’re looking for something chic and cute, I would go with the mirror option. It also makes for a great photoshoot opportunity. I would thrift a vintage mirror and get mirror markers to write on the mirror.
DIY Welcome Sign
If you’re looking for something super cute but simple, you can DIY a welcome sign, too! For less than $25 (!!)
- Create and customize your welcome sign on Canva
- Upload your design and print at Walgreens
- Purchase an easel to place your sign on (I love this one because it’s under $10)
Marquee Graduation Lights
I’ve always found marquee lights to be absolutely mesmerizing, especially when it comes to celebrating your graduation!
They add such a vibrant touch to the grad party. Plus, I’ve noticed people getting creative by using numbers to represent the graduation year.
Graduation Balloon Arch
Having a balloon garland is one of the easiest, yet essential ideas for your graduation party. They look super amazing and super affordable. They can be used at the entrance of your party or create a cute photobooth to take pictures with your friends!
Create A Graduation Banner
In my opinion, a graduation party banner is essential. You can easily create a DIY banner using just a few simple supplies, such as a kraft paper roll, paint or permanent markers, and some inspiration!
Alternatively, similar to the DIY welcome sign, you can design your banner on Canva and then print it at your local Walgreens or CVS for a more polished look.
Polaroid Guest Book
Polaroid guest books have become increasingly popular. This concept enhances the traditional guest book by incorporating both written messages and a tangible keepsake. Gen Z, being digital natives, will surely appreciate this idea!
Create A Dedicated Photobooth Area
Balloons are going to be the essential decoration item for your party. Whether you use them for a balloon arch or a photobooth area, these will surely have all of your friends taking nonstop photos! Plus, it’s super easy to put together!
High School Graduation Party Food Ideas
Let’s be honest, everyone is here for the food 😉
Whether you’re hosting a graduation brunch, pizza party, full-course meal, or serving appetizers, I’ve found some easy graduation party food ideas to consider for your celebration!
Easy Graduation Party Food Ideas – Sandwiches
If you don’t enjoy cooking, catering can be a great option. However, sandwiches are simple to prepare and can easily be made yourself. Just gather your sandwich toppings and wrap them up to make them look fancier 🙂
Fruit and Veggie Trays
What’s a party without a fruit and veggie tray?
Chocolate Fondue Fountain
I had a chocolate fountain at my grad party, and boy was it the most traffic station lol! It can get messy, but it’s totally worth it!
High School Graduation Cakes Ideas
Truth is, your senior graduation cake makes the day a little extra special! It’s seriously the photogenic memory of all your accomplishments, hard work, and the transition into your next chapter. So you must select one that stands out!
Out of everything at my high school graduation party, my mom made sure I had the BEST cake, ahaha!
No matter what everything else looked like, she was determined to make sure my cake was unforgettable. (Looking back, I appreciate her so much for it, because my cake is still talked about years later, ahaha!)
Here are some of my favorite graduation cake ideas that’ll impress everyone!
Graduation Cake Aesthetic
If you’re looking for something insanely cute and aesthetic, this graduation cake idea will surely impress!
Graduation Cap Cake Design
My graduation theme was “caps”. It was a fun theme, and if you decide to go with a similar theme, you should totally add caps to your cake! Toss a few ribbons, and it’s cute, classy, but right on theme!
Funny Graduation Cake Ideas
This cake idea can easily be recreated for under $30! I recently bought a similar cake from Walmart, and I was so impressed with how gorgeous my cake turned out. I showed them my vision, and they executed it so beautifully.
